No, it's a complimentary service I offer to help the author brainstorm for developmental editing, or answer any lingering questions.
A percentage of the overall price is required up front to hold your place on my calendar. Once all edits have been completed, the remainder of the payment is due.
It varies from project to project. A short story will take much less time to edit than a 100k word manuscript. However, that same manuscript may take less time than a 60k word piece, which has more errors.
If you need to hit a particular deadline, please let me know. Additional charges for fast turnaround time may apply.
